The Habistat temperature thermostat is a simple and reliable basic thermostat for use in vivariums and aquaria. For all types of heaters up to a maximum loading of 300w. Not suitable for use with light bulbs. Supplied with a fitted three pin plug, a socket for connection to the heater and a waterproof temperature probe. Length of cable supplied: approx' 51" (130cm) to each connection.The temperature is calibrated in centigrade and farenheit.
The Habistat temperature thermostat is a high quality product that comes complete with a five year guarantee. Although this type of 'stat has been used by many people to control light bulbs used for heating it will significantly reduce the life span of any bulb due to the constant switching on and off as temperature rises and falls. Much better results will be achieved by using a dimmer 'stat with bulbs. Both in terms of longer bulb life and more importantly less stress to your animals because there won't be a constant sudden change from dark to light.
